The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has said that a large number of personnel will be deployed at airports who know the local language. Earlier, DMK MP Kanimozhi alleged that a CISF worker at the airport asked him questions regarding being Indian as he does not know Hindi.
A senior CISF official denied Kanimozhi’s allegations and said that this was not confirmed in the initial interrogation of the woman officer. The official said that on August 9, the woman officer who spoke to the MP at the Chennai airport told senior officials during interrogation that she “did not say the words Kanimozhi was saying.” Rather, he only said that Hindi is also an Indian or official language. ”
Kanimozhi had tweeted about the incident and accused him of imposing Hindi. CISF officials said that the female officer posted at the Chennai airport was counseled regarding her conduct. He said that the woman officer hails from the South Indian state and had spoken to Kanimozhi in Hindi during a general security check.
A senior CISF official said, “He told the investigation team that he did not ask any questions about the MP’s Indianness for not knowing Hindi.” The officer merely told the MP that Hindi is also an Indian or official language. ”
After Kanimozhi’s tweet on the issue, the CISF responded to its official Twitter handle by stating that an inquiry into the matter has been ordered and it is not CISF’s policy to impose any single language. CISF Director General Rajesh Ranjan told PTI-language, “Our focus is that contact should be well established in any way.
