The Defense Ministry has approved the purchase of 21 MiG-29 and 12 Sukhoi 30 MKI aircraft for the Air Force amidst confrontation with China on the Line of Actual Control. Additional missiles of the three armies will also be procured. India’s decision to buy MiG and Sukhoi from Russia is considered favorable due to short time and low cost.
Let me tell you that the MiG-29 has been a reliable partner of India’s war fleet for the last 35 years. MiG 29 has shown mightiness by demolishing Pak bases in the Kargil War with Mirage.
In the Kargil war in 1999, Pak had established hideouts at an altitude of 15,000 feet, but it did not take long to evacuate the enemy from the MiG-29 target. Explain that MiG is already deployed at Nigahabani at Adampur Base Station, located 100 km from Pakistan border and 250 km from China.
Mig 29 features
Mig 29 is capable of providing services for up to 40 years.
Takeoff is possible in a straight 90 degree angle towards the same.
Takeoff capability of enemy aircraft in 5 minutes.
Air-to-air, air-to-surface and air capable of marine action.
This purchase is considered good from the perspective of India’s dispute with China.
The LAC in Ladakh between Indian and Chinese forces has been in conflict for almost two months. Although it was agreed to withdraw from both the armies on June 6, China is not implementing it. Due to this, there has been a bloody clash between the two armies on 15 June. After this there was talk between the foreign ministers of the two countries and on 22 June the military commanders also held a marathon meeting. Consent is reached each time, but its implementation is not visible.
