Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami has got a big relief from the High Court. The Bombay High Court has stayed both the FIRs lodged against him. The TV journalist is accused of insulting the interim president of Congress, Sonia Gandhi. An FIR was filed against him in Mumbai.
More than a dozen FIRs were lodged in Congress-ruled states across the country for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Sonia Gandhi and spreading communalism. After the FIR was filed, Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami approached the Supreme Court for relief. This is seen as a big setback for Congress against whom Arnab Goswami has led an anti-stance from his Times Now days.
