Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level review meeting of preparations for the Corona virus vaccine today. During this time the PM also discussed providing vaccines to the people on time with the concerned authorities.
The Prime Minister directed the officials to evaluate various techniques to ensure timely vaccination. PM Modi also directed that a detailed plan for mass vaccination should be prepared immediately.
The current status of Indian and global vaccine development efforts was also reviewed at the meeting. Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s responsibility and commitment to the global community to play an enabling role in the global vaccination efforts against Corona.
The government has approved the clinical trial of COVAXIN, India’s first COVID-19 vaccine being prepared by Bharat Biotech. Soon its trial will start on humans. Let us know that this is the first vaccine of Kovid-19 being prepared in India, which has been approved for clinical trials.
Bharat Biotech is involved in making the vaccine in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology. It remains to be seen whether this vaccine is effective in clinical trials.
Currently more than 100 Kovid-19 vaccines in the world are under various stages of vaccine development. The epidemic, he said, has highlighted the importance of global solidarity. At the same time, health should be seen as an investment, not as a cost.
