Mumbai’s Taj Hotel received bomb threat from Pakistan

The Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel in Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, received threatening phone calls from Pakistan. The police have since increased security of both hotels. The callers described themselves as members of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Let us tell you that yesterday, Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi was attacked by terrorists.

A Mumbai Police official, requesting anonymity, said that the hotel authorities received threatening calls. After this the security has been increased. The historic Taj Hotel in the Colaba area was also among the sites targeted by Pakistani terrorists during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

The official told news agency PTI that the Mumbai Police is on high alert following the attack on the Karachi exchange on Monday and has beefed up anti-terrorism measures and increased security outside hotels and other sensitive establishments.

However, the police have not yet confirmed the reports that a person from Pakistan has called and threatened to bomb this luxurious hotel. The officer said that the police are on alert and sufficient number of police personnel have been deployed in the (Taj Hotel) area.
