BJP MP from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh, Pragya Singh Thakur, without naming former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, said that a person born to a foreign woman cannot be a nationalist.
Thakur told reporters on a question about the Congress’s allegations in the context of tensions between India and China after a program at the state BJP office in Bhopal, that the Congress should look into its predecessors. She neither has the decency to speak, nor the party has rites, nor his party has patriotism. I will say one thing from where the patriotism will come, when we will take membership of two countries.
She said that the country is in safe hands under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
At the same time, Congress media cell in-charge and former minister Jeetu Patwari also tweeted without naming Pragya Thakur and tweeted that no patriot can be a terrorist. No Godse devotee can be a patriot. Like the sentiment, God saw the idol.
Patwari was indirectly referring to Pragya Thakur, one of the accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case in Maharashtra.
